Jo Sear is a musician and instrumental teacher based in Weston-Super-Mare, North Somerset.

Jo is an instrumental teacher for piano, flute, recorder, music theory and beginner clarinet based in Weston-Super-Mare, North Somerset.  She has over 25 years experience working within music services and teaching private students.  Jo is an accomplished performer and has conducted and directed many youth and adult ensembles as well as playing in local orchestras.  She has worked in numerous schools and ran the local Saturday Morning Music school in her native Luton for many years.

Jo enjoys sharing her love of music with adults and children alike.  She believes that learning an instrument should be a fun and rewarding experience, actively encouraging her pupils to research and choose repertoire that they want to learn, whilst offering support and guidance along the way.  Lessons will include many aspects of performance – listening, technical advice, sight reading…. and learning situations that students do not always realise are happening!!

Jo encourages her students to practise regularly – it is proven that regular practice produces increased improvement and progress – this tends to go hand in hand with enjoyment!
